scenery--Athens Hellenikon Int'l Airport (LGAT), Greece. Hellenikon
International Airport used to be Greece's main airport from 1938 to 2001. Last
year, air traffic in Greece was rising so much that Hellenic CAA decided to
build another international airport, Eleutherios Venizelos Airport (LGAV) with
greater passenger tranfer ability. Part of the contract regarding the building
of the new advanced airport of Athens, was to close any airport in a radius of
60 nm from LGAV that had commercial activity. So, the day LGAV opened (28th
March 2001), LGAT ceased operations for commercial flights but still it is
beeing used for general aviation flights under VFR rules. By Panos Georgotas

ICAO Greece Update. Updates the latest icao.dat file of SquawkBox for weather
downloading problems encountered within Hellenic airspace. Adds missing Greek
airports including new Athens E. Venizelos LGAV, removed wrong (non ICAO METAR)
entries. Replacing will not cause any harm to your SquawkBox operation since
it's an update to the latest available icao.dat. This file is only needed if you
are downloading weather with SquawkBox and not other weather software. By

connecting new Athens Venizelos LGAV, Thessaloniki LGTS, Rodos LGRP and Iraklion
LGIR, with Rome, London, Amsterdam, Paris, Geneva, Munich, Stockholm, Vienna,
Belgrade, Copenhagen, Istanbul, Larnaca and Beyrouth. Fly into Hellenic airspace
with the official Eurocontrol routes made manually so as to conform with
standard procedures (routes) used in real flights. There are both inbound and

scenery--Greek NavAids Fix v2. Some VORs like Skopelos SKL, Thessaloniki TSL and
Rodos RDS that were wrong by MS are fixed and a new Hellenic Airspace Enroute
VOR is added. Leaves all "Hellas 2001" (Greece) scenery add-ons free
(no global exclude files). The new VOR is needed for the approaches ofthe new
Athens Venizelos LGAV airport. If you want to fly into Greece IFR this is a file
you need. Updated version includes even more fixed deacons plus a bonus, the new

Includes breathtaking dangerous approaches over the Aegean sea to Syros, Kasos,
Sitia, Leros, Ikaria and Kithira to be enjoyed with these two sceneries. Ikaria
